We gather, celebrating the new year
anticipating, waiting
celebrating the birth of our Lord
Wanting others
the whole world around us
to share in our hope, our joy
the wonder that we feel
God’s great sacrifice
beginning before his coming
long before the manger bed
long before the cross
The decision of the God-head
the Father, Son, Spirit
to descend to the earth
humbly as a human
Celebrating this gift
beyond all measure
God sacrificing himself
that we would live in glory
