Painful as it may be
May this be a growing time
Coming to know you more fully
To more fully follow Christ
To follow his example
Taking up the towel
To be my neighbor’s servant
Offering them your love
Speaking plainly, boldly
Of the grace you poured out
Sending your son down from heaven
Paying the awful cost
Nothing else matters
Save for the love we have inside
The hope of the ages
In the person of Christ
Only through the gate
Through his body and his blood
Are we able to see the Father
Through the gate of the cross
Leading us to heaven
If our walk is true
Yoked with our Savior
Until our walk here is through.
