that we may hear

The word around us
in the cloud of God’s presence
his small voice whispering
shouting in the heavens
in the touch of a baby’s hand
in the sunburst after rain
all of these singing
God’s message of love to us

Make us open
that we may hear you Lord
speaking to us in silence
standing with us in sorrow
rising with us in joy
speaking to us ever
your message of love for us
wanting only to be near us
in this walk here below
