Working side by side

Not alone, on our own
part of a living whole
the body, the church of Christ
the sheep of the fold

We are to work together
working side by side
together serving our neighbor
leaving no one behind

Offering them love
the care of the Master
healing the with a loving word
with the touch of our hands

We are to serve
to carry on Christ’s work
guided by the Spirit
leading us back to God

Only in reflection
seeing the fruits of the labors
the harvest abundant for the Lord
when we are faithful to God’s call to us
