Faithful to Your Call – v2

Sometimes on the sidelines
not such a central player,
but Joseph is a true example
of a disciple of God

Faithful to Your call
risking ridicule, shame;
taking on the role of Father
to Mary’s unborn child

Living as a husband,
as the Father of our Savior;
humble in his witness
to the calling to be faithful

No special fame
no special place of honor;
always in the background
this step-father of our Savior
