What we believe we know
the things we are most certain of
Our history, the moments
the events of our lives
fixed in our minds
as if chiseled in marble
Yet memory is a fiction
a creation of the now
We recast our memories
our history to our purpose
how we feel now, this moment,
reshaping the fabric of our past
