They couldn’t see him
the fulfillment,
of the words of Isaiah
the truth ringing odd
sounding funny in their ears
Blind to his teaching
the truth of the coming
the Messiah revealed
in the words from his lips
The boy, the Christ-child
the man before them
claiming his power
the people unaware
they denied the living God
