All of us, every one
like those people back then
fallen from the grace of God
sons and daughters
of Adam and Eve
Each of us unworthy
all for the judgment
on our own unable
to come back to God
Needing his promise
the grace of our creator
the loving savior
to turn away from our sin
The rainbow the beginning
God’s reminder
his promise not to wash away
man from the earth
Over the centuries,
our wickedness evident
laws, kings and prophets
nothing enough
Only with the savior
the Christ, Emmanuel
the breach sealed forever
once for all time
Only needing our acceptance
repentance, turning
offering our lives
at the foot of the cross
