Change, the sand shifting
their beliefs challenged
in ways they could not stand
The Christ entering
sitting in the sanctuary
surrounded by his community
claiming the words of prophecy
More than they could fathom
the boy, the man from their town
How could he be the one
foretold in the words
the scripture written down
Sending the Messiah
the Christ before them
out of the community
unable to believe his truth
