But for your grace
your promise to Noah
dead and gone
washed away by a flood
do would humanity be
to this very day
The sin of Adam,
of our own lives
just like the people
living in his day
Your love overcoming
the judgment of which
we are deserving
sending the son
to take our sin away
Going where we could not
obedient to the cross
living his life humbly
all of his days
But for your grace
the experiment ended
no ark, no rainbow
no history we know.
