Not a man, alone,
on the rugged cross
hanging in suffering
the lamb, God dying
nailed to the tree
The incomprehensible act
fullness of love sublime
wanting us to come back to him
paying our penalty
Going as a servant
humble, as a lamb
the sacrifice for our sin
marked for death before he was born
descending to earth just for this
