How like Thomas
unable to believe
needing some tangible proof
of God’s love for him
needing to touch his side
But too, in the modern age
unwilling to stop, to listen
God’s voice speaking
from within us
if we would only hear
Oppression and injustice
stalking the earth
all over the world
brought into our homes
all around the dial
Cries of the children,
those in abject poverty
suffering so great
the weight of our sin
all of humanity
Proofs before us
our neighbors around us
the need for loving deeds
so much we could do
if we offered our hands to God
