This Side of the Kingdom

Yes, walking with our savior
the one who healed the lame
the one who suffered and died
that we may live again

Serving as I am able
using gifts, heaven sent
spreading a message of love
hope for me and you

This side of the kingdom, though
still upon this trouble earth
the pain and strife of this world
no love for our fellow man

Needing to call on that Spirit
especially in these days
where war and oppression stalk the earth
and pain is all to profound

That Spirit, that power
born on Pentecost
steeling all of our hearts
to continue our master’s work

Healing where we are able
by the intoning of his loving name
acting as his messengers
that the kingdom may come
