Wondering if We Are There Yet
The rote of the children
chiming in the back seat
are we there yet they ask
an echo of the earth
We must be mindful
God’s purpose already written
our days numbered
and His plan to unfold
Wondering if we are there yet
missing His calling
we are put where we are to be planted
His plan to be revealed
We are to build,
to grow and to prosper
to live in our exile
as children of the King
Faithfully serving
seeking peace for the nation
the peoples around us
needing to hear of His grace
Offering prayers
that they would prosper
in this seeing the face of God
right before their eyes
Happy where we have been planted
not seeking tomorrow
leaving the rest to God
to come in His holy time.
