We are Thankful to God – v2

We are thankful to God
not some nebulous other
not to the winds, to fate
some amorphous blessing
We are thankful to God
to the God of creation
to God of the harvest
for the bounty of the garden

For the bushels of grain
the abundance of our table
we praise your holy name
We are thankful to God

For all we are given
for the sun in the morning
for rain in its season
to God alone we praise
Not some accident of fate
we praise, we sing
we trust in your goodness
we are thankful to God
