Fields of Crystal
A November morning
between autumn and winter
fields of crystal
a frozen confection
catching my eye with light
Fields illumined, sparkling
not yet warming
ten degrees below freezing
brushed by Jack’s paint
in glisten and sugar
Soon melting, lifted away
but for these moments
magic and wonder
frozen on the fields
as far as the eye can see
