We were blessed, our eyes
open
by a singular sight
after our time on the beach,
over our picnic, in the sky
a slice of color, colors,
cut into the screen
this piece of the dome
a segment of a bow
vertical in the summer sky
color against the pale blue,
the curtain
growing for a few brief moments
iridescent, shimmering in
the sunny sky
growing, posing, long
enough,
for us all to marvel
