the glaze burned on
into the earthen vessel
fired, alive
marking the clay
the blood of his sacrifice
burgundy, crimson
seared into the flesh
this cup of our communion

a broken cup
edited April 7, 2014
the cup was broken before worship yesterday,
the juice was spilled, the cloth was thrown away but was gathered from the
trash this morning. They and the crown of thorns together speak of how God can
make something beautiful from the brokenness through the sacrifice of Christ.

The spilled blood

I was sitting doing my bible study when I just
felt compelling to go to the church and photograph the crown of thorns with the
broken cup and cloth filled with spilled grape juice from before worship
yesterday. So blessed that God is able to make something so beautiful from our
brokenness, through the sacrifice of Christ. — with Pastor
