strangers merely neighbors
a reminder of our teaching
part of the series
of hospitality starting
within the walls
this body, the church
our brothers, our sisters
all our family
before we can share
before we can witness
offering hospitality
to our neighbors, the strangers
starting here, in the church
concentric circles
circles of love
radiating outward
offering hope
in a hand, a smile
a meal offered in love
strangers merely neighbors
we have yet to meet

Acts 2:42-47 (The Message

2 Timothy 3:14-17 (Common

Psalm 103:1-5 (Common

“Loving God, we thank you
for this day. Thank you for
your Word that guides and
sustains us. As we hear
your Word may we rejoice
in your loving-kindness and goodness;
may we draw ever closer to
you.
We pray for eyes to see
you in the world,
ears to hear your whisper
on the wind, and a heart that is
moldable in your hands.
All this we pray in the
name above all names, our
Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”
