Early Sunday morning
leaving the highway,
off the exit ramp
Sparkles off the shoulder
draw our gaze
to the marsh, the grasses
the sparkling color
captured in frozen fog
Light refracting and pulsing
new frost clinging
shrub and nettle,
goldenrod and milkweed
blanketed, crystallized
a canvas of light,
ablaze, afire, an image,
captured in frozen fog
