Her form new-spun gossamer
a fabric of aerosol molecules
her image so clear
looking down upon the earth
a flowing, living robe,
flowing,
shifting so quickly
a regal Victorian angel
hovering over Your mountain
So quickly she came
so soon she departed
evaporating into swirls;
but we saw her with us
her body, a halo, the lines
of her robe
wings arched behind her
hovering across the sunset
Her body, her gown, shades
of pastel slates
painted over the deepening
blue
wings of luminous fire,
melting,
in dusty roses and pinks
the feathers lit from below
alive in their beating
across the September sunset
