They spit on the Lord

Both the priests, the Jewish leaders

the righteous of the people

and the soldiers, the tormentors

the fist of Roman power

They both spat on Jesus

they spit on the Lord

Not seeing Him before them

who He was, the Messiah,

the living God with us

walking here with us.
