Immersed

I became enthralled
immersed in the imagery
the depth of feeling
sitting in the room
of the gallery
not seeing, no more than that
is experiencing what I mean
more still
absorbing it into my being
being with the brushstrokes
feeling his passion
as he painted it so long before
in his home in France
the culmination of his art
so able to capture more than a mood
the totality of what is to be explored
the depth of the water
the skin of the water
water lilies
