As the father sent the son
the spirit descending on him as a dove
so we are sent by our Master, our brother, our savior
the risen Christ, the Messiah, the lamb,
breathing the spirit, his power, into our lungs,
into our cells, into our very being
empowering us, preparing us, equipped
to take up the yoke with our brother
to work in the field, in the vineyard,
to bring fruits for the harvest,
the reaper who will come again
as the father sent him, so we are sent
to offer Christ to the world
to bear his witness, to be his light
sending this prayer into the world
