from the competing voices we hear
some leading us away
some drawing us near
Culling the wheat
from the chaff, the tares,
that which should be
burned in the fire
gathering in the seed
that we would ever be filled
God’s message for us
his presence right by our side
needing to be still ourselves
that we would hear his voice
by the Spirit, empowered to go, to serve
agents of God’s change
his love turning the world around
heeding the master’s call
going where we are sent
doing all we can
