In leaving the rest
at the end of the yard sale
the pile of things
that no one had bought
not boxing it up
saved for another year
giving the rest away
to others in need
Left for their choosing
their gathering in private
able to get what they could not afford
their lives perhaps easier
by the things they collected
sometimes important
sometimes things of love
Either way a blessing
the things that we offered
not only those things
that brought in an offering
Both of them God’s blessing
when we are guided
led by the Spirit
to live out our lives in love
