The ghosts of the protests
those yearning for freedom
those who stood up after prayers
going into the streets
stealing them in the night
removed from their own homes
in terror and fright
The purge of the protest
silent, in the night
The world standing in silence
complicit in the slaughter
allowing the tyrant
to prowl the darkened streets
Wake up from slumber
the scales from your eyes
act out for justice
before more people die
