Our word not worth a dime
we fail to be true
we lie and cheat
against our God
turning our backs on him
God’s word, by contrast,
as sure now as in ages past
to the end of time
we can have faith in him
His promise eternal
our hope only in God
he will not forsake us
even when we turn on him
We can count on God’s word
on his holy promise
the Word the same today
as it was yesterday
Our hope already written
the final chapter before us
as God has always been
so he will always be
We can count on God’s word
what is already written
the rest of the story
the walk of our faith
Our hope already written
the final chapter before us
as God was at the beginning
so he will always be
We can trust in God
who created the heavens
the earth, all creatures here below
We can believe his promise
because he is faithful
believing in us
even when we deny him
We can be sure
of God’s Word today
as it was in the beginning
so it shall be
God’s Word as sure now
as it will be tomorrow
He alone faithful
when all others run away
