father”
their names
parallel
but such different
paths
The revolutionary
insurrectionist,
jihadi
held by Pilate, to
be freed
trying to overthrow
Rome
the other a far
different path
The preacher
Messiah, Savior
bringing love
instead
showing the way
Standing before
Pilate
each of them
at the seat of
power
from outside, the
country
Jerusalem in fire that
day
Barabbas to be
freed
but not the other
the Son of Man
Messiah, Emmanuel
Love going to the
cross
to die for all our
sin
to heal the breach
within
