For those who grab
the spotlight
who sit in
righteous judgment;
sitting in glass
houses
fully exposed,
vulnerable
like the emperor
with no clothes.
Casting the first
stone
against their
fellow man.
A harsh mirror,
from
the carnie, the fun
house
Distorting their
features
a parody of
themselves
when their own sin
is exposed,
shone across the dial,
the web,
the real-time news
cycle.
How far the mighty
climb
in the Temple, the
Pharisees;
How far they fall,
how they shatter,
When the shards of
their glass houses
crumble under the
weight
of their own hubris,
their piety,
judging all the
rest.
