He was in the image of God
for He is God incarnate
yet born in human likeness
the frailty of our flesh.
He walked as a mortal
feeling all our pain
tempted as we are
yet being a slave.
He was humble to God
submissive to His plan
drinking the cup
going to the cross.
Christ was emptied of power
yet filled with Spirit
guided as God would lead
faithful in full measure.
