A cascade, from a pure royal blue,
to a spectrum of rust;
Pale canary yellow, bleeding
to burgundy and finally cobalt
Sudden sunset between
the twin pitons;
A bit of magic
over the sea
The warm leeward breath
rising up from the ocean’s surface;
Wafting up the slope
of the volcanic ridge
Rich lush greens, sweet fragrance
on the tropical breeze;
Air wet at dusk, falling
through the dew point
Dark wrapping us, a blanket
looking out on the now placid sea;
Weak light of civilization
hidden behind, beyond the road below.
