Of Man, of Woman
of the King, the Creator -
We see the Prodigal Son,
the fatted calf, sacrificed;
We see the fragrant oil
washing of His feet,
anointing His head,
a gift of her heart.
The washing with tears,
drying with her hair;
Uncommon, extravagant gifts
poured out in love.
Lessons before the sacrifice,
of the Lamb, the Christ,
that Passover, changed
forever
that night so long ago.
