Light of Christ

We are to be, to bring
the light of Christ,
of our God, our savior
A beacon shining
into the dungeons, into the darkness
bringing his mercy, his wisdom,
his justice, godly virtues
living today, carrying on
his ministry, his teachings
crying out in the wilderness
making ready, making his way straight
bringing others to his altar, to his throne
a lamp high on the lampstand
light to the world
