Advent, the season of waiting,
remembering the Christ child
and his holy birth
so long, long ago
His star rising,
over the world in slumber
the king of heaven
descending to the earth
His life, his light shining
in our hearts, our lives glowing
the mystery of faith
in our savior’s coming to earth
The scripture fulfilled
the prophets of old
All in the manger bed
come to life
