Waiting patiently
His time eternal
waiting for us to turn
and return to our king
Ever He is present
beside us on this journey
open to our turning
coming home to our Lord
We are the ones who leave
who run from the father
who go to foreign lands
squandering what we have
He is here, ever with us
arms open wide
whenever we come home
