Protected by God

Before the fire
the wrath of the king
refusing to bow down
to accept his as their god
Holding fast
to the commandments of the one
knowing that they
would be protected by God
Trusting before,
based on the people’s past
the steadfast love of our creator
Entering boldly, standing before the king
loyal to our creator, the One
