They believed, based on the words of scripture
the faith, deep within their hearts
even in exile, in Babylonian captivity
stripped of their land, their people
subjugated and brought under his thumb
They believed, stayed loyal, faithful to their God
knowing his power, his authority
even without need of proof
even if his answer to their prayer
in this moment was, “No”,
they believed, and acted on their faith
into the fiery furnace, believing in our God

That's faith—trusting even when the miracle might not happen.
