Holding God

The thought of that moment
how humbled he must have felt
knowing who was before him
what this moment meant

Asked to baptize him
to hold God in his hands
lowering into the waters
that he may begin his work

Trembling in the waters
in awe of this power
washing the savior clean
that the Spirit might descend
anoint him for his work
