The witness of the people
of the city, Capernaum
to the mercy of Jesus
to his compassion for others
Hope, light
a glimmer, an offering
giving them a purpose
to heal his brokenness
Rushing him to Jesus
a holy purpose
good neighbors lifting
the unclean man
Bringing him physically
emotionally to Jesus
knowing he could be healed
inside and out
Rewarded for their service
through pushing to the front
even cutting the roof
that he could be lowered down
Friends, more than neighbors
offering their assistance
bringing him to Jesus
that he would be healed
Healed by Jesus
made to walk again
more important still
in the company of men
Able by Christ’s healing
purged of his sin
able to worship God again
clean to enter in
