Evil servants, corrupt hired hands
standing in judgment of the Master
God in the dock, the Son
the defendant in a satanic court
Christ found guilty
by God’s chosen people
seeking to give him to Caesar
to the prince of this earth
Caesar finding no fault
proclaiming the innocence of Jesus
yet submitting to the people
setting a terrorist free
God bound over for sentence
brutally beaten
the lamb with our hands upon him
becoming the sin sacrifice
Going from the harsh beating
to die upon the cross
the Savior of the universe
died to set us free
