We seek cures, but God heals us

We seek cures
each passing fad
gimmicks, quick fix solutions
nothing that will last

Searching self-help manuals
courses beyond number
but we don’t find healing
cures for our diseases

But God heals us
he is the master healer
the living God here with us
Jesus, the Christ

He alone can heal us
redeem us from our brokenness
He alone is worthy
God, the sacrifice

We seek cures
healing from our ailments
not looking deeper
to the pain deep within

We seek cures
the things on the surface
forgetting to look inward
to our pain deep within

But God heals our illness
the deepest parts of our pain
redeeming our soul from darkness
by the love of the Christ, our God

But God heals our illness
the things deep below the surface
offering us hope and wholeness
new life with him
