Woven threads, back and
forth
weaving a story, a rich
fabric
pulling against the knots
the hard places, the waters
the rift valley, the shadows
the stronger together
strong fibers, bright colors
words repeating the message
the connection of our lives
to one another, all of us,
and the baptism of Christ
Our baptism with His
the waters of the Jordan,
of the Congo, of the
Contoocook
rivers connecting, living
waters
all around this earth
His baptism, changing His
life
changing our world evermore
from the inside out
setting a path in motion
the plan of Almighty God
The carpenter no more
through the waters dying
the Messiah rising from the
waters
to reclaim the people
lost in the world
Repeating the good news
the message, hope for all
people
in our baptism, one heart at
a time
all of us connected
all around this earth
