before
we complain,
before
we look in the mirror
we
need to remember
the
risen Christ
He
showed his scars
the
pain that he suffered
resurrected,
alive
with
us forever
and
seated in heaven
only
the living have scars
so
when we complain about our scars
the
bags under our eyes
the
wrinkles, the crow’s feet
the
white hairs only our heads
the
things we carry
in
this journey of faith
we
should remember
that
the dead don’t have scars
only
the living have scars
part
of the journey
from
wounds, forgiveness,
scars
in the healing
the
bodies of the dead
have
left them, forgotten,
the
scars we carry to remind us in life
of
the blessing of healing
from
the one who knows us.
God’s
healing to the living
while
we walk the earth.
