The Kingdom of God is nearer

The kingdom of God is nearer
than we realize, than we fear
love come down, living in Christ
here with us still
the Spirit beating inside
in each beating heart
in each neighbor needing love
hope for tomorrow
God’s word inside
the light of Christ shining
burning in our lives
the kingdom of God nearer
when we share his love.
