He was fully human, close to
us
yet fully divine, omniscient,
knowing pain, a sense of
loss
what was to come tomorrow
what was the cost
the nails that would pierce
His flesh
what He would experience
covered by His own blood, His
sweat
the spittle of the Romans,
the blows of the Sanhedrin
This same Jesus
bowing before Judas
washing His feet of dust
setting them an example
showing God’s great love
pouring out His grace
