The shadow the same – v3

the color of the cloth may differ
black of sorrow, of Friday, of Saturday
removed with the coming of morning;
white for the resurrection
upon the cross
before the church.

the color may be different,
but the shadow the same
the choice, the cross,
to follow His example;
in humble submission,
to give completely
in the service of God.

sharing the shadow
the continuing mission
to bear our own witness;
Christ’s example
the cross, the light,
the love of God.

The shadow the same
after Easter, that evening
the color of the cloth changed to white
on the cross in front of the church
but the shadow the same color as with
the black cloth of Good Friday
