We all are tempted in this life,
a coarseness, a selfishness pervades the age
the world says all is acceptable, that it is okay
We all need that place of strength, that moral compass
that place we can cleave to when we are weak
May we be that place, oh Lord, this sanctuary, this refuge
this holy ground a place to be safe, to find help
a listening ear, a cup of coffee, someone to understand
May we lift up our brothers, our sisters in pain
aching with demons great or small, eating at their hearts
Let us be a place for the tempted to find help
in the arms of the Lord
