We are the same, of the same stuff as him
but his choice, the choice of the son
the son of man, to give over
to turn over his will to the Father’s
the master’s will, choosing to be a servant,
more than that, an offering, a sacrifice
taking on our sin, our errors,
our hubris, our sloth, our selfishness.
Like us, born with free will, the choice
to do as we will, charting our own path
our own course in life. He chose to follow
to live a different life, as a servant
making God’s will his own
Fulfilling the law, the prophets
being the faithful nation, the loving son
the brother being our savior
