His blood,
the blood of the lamb
the blood of God,
incarnate here on earth
poured out, as payment,
as sacrifice
for the sin we carry,
made in our arrogance
our selfishness, our will
a sacrifice, a gift,
an offering on the altar
grace beyond measure,
beyond our comprehension
a gift of the father, of the son
doing the father’s will
washing us clean
reconciling us to God
able to walk once more
in communion with God
